Project Description
NicNevol Engineering Services provided CEI and geotechnical support to the City of Jacksonville Department of Public Works for the Cain Lane and Able Street Capital Improvement Project. The project aimed to resolve chronic stormwater drainage and flooding issues by upgrading infrastructure and stabilizing embankments.
The scope included grading and embankment construction at the outlet, installation of ditch pavement, cleaning and CCTV inspection of existing stormwater pipes, and site restoration with grassing. Additional improvements involved replacing unsuitable soils with compacted fill, constructing an 8-ft security fence with a double swing gate, and implementing erosion and sedimentation controls compliant with City and FDOT standards.
NicNevol Responsibilities
- Reviewing and documenting construction activities.
- Verification of material testing and MAC entry.
- Oversight of contractor quality control efforts.
- Reviewing erosion control measures and MOT within work zones.
- Assisting in preparation of monthly and final estimates.
- Daily coordination with contractor representatives and inspection staff.
- Responding to RFIs and resolving construction issues in the field.
