Project Description
NicNevol partnered with FDOT District Two to provide CEI and materials testing services for safety upgrades along SR 13 (San Jose Boulevard), an urban arterial in Jacksonville, FL. The project limits ran from St. Augustine Road to Via de La Reina Street, delivering targeted school-zone improvements adjacent to multiple schools and community facilities.
The scope of work included sidewalk enhancements, ADA-compliant pedestrian ramps, improved crosswalks, upgraded pavement markings, installation of school-zone signing and flashing beacons, and resurfacing at key intersections. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) measures were coordinated to minimize impacts to daily commuters and ongoing school operations.
NicNevol Responsibilities
- Reviewing and documenting construction activities.
- Verification of material testing and MAC entry.
- Oversight of contractor quality control efforts.
- Reviewing erosion control measures and MOT within active school zones.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly and final estimates.
- Daily coordination with contractor representatives and inspection staff.
- Responding to RFIs, resolving construction issues, and negotiating extra work/cost with the contractor.
