Project Description
NicNevol (through Bensatec Geosciences, Inc.) provided geotechnical inspection and testing services for drilled shaft
foundations along Gale Lemerand Drive and Stadium Road at the University of Florida. The scope covered inspection of
three shafts, slurry evaluation, concrete sampling, and laboratory testing of cast-in-place cylinders to verify
compliance with project and FDOT specifications.
Field technicians documented subsurface conditions and construction procedures throughout drilling and concrete placement,
coordinating closely with contractor crews and engineering staff to maintain quality and safety on an active campus corridor.
NicNevol Responsibilities
- Inspecting drilled shaft construction and documenting shaft conditions.
- Monitoring slurry properties and shaft cleanliness prior to concrete placement.
- Performing concrete sampling and laboratory cylinder break testing.
- Preparing daily reports and coordinating with contractor and engineering teams.
